PaperFoam is a company which produces products from the equally named material PaperFoam and it is one of the most environmentally friendly packaging materials available. The material is a composite which contains mostly starch and natural fibres and is produced with injection molding.
The Child's Hosptal Box is a preparation kit for children who will need to have surgery. Research has shown that children feel less stress in a hospital when they have learned what will happen to them. It also showed that learning it in a known area with known people will make them feel more confident and they will understand it better. Therefore the
child's Hospital Box will be send two weeks prior to the surgery to every child. The box lets the children learn together with their parents what will happen and which materials they will encounter during their visit to the hospital. Apart from the playful information book and the paper segical gown there is a building kit which let them build the anasthesia mask, infusion needle and patient bracelet. Children will mostly encounter all these materials during their visit regardless of the type of surgery. The separate parts of the kit can be easily broken out of the box and can be simply stuck together by putting some drops of water at the sides that should stick. The material will soften a bit at those parts which will make it instantly stick together.
